Blackwood began with a simple belief: thoughtful design can help us notice the beauty already around us. A view framed by architecture. A quiet evening outside. The freedom to be fully present.

Blackwood Resort was created as an escape from the noise of everyday life — a place where nature, architecture, and thoughtful design work together to reconnect you with stillness, presence, and each other.
Our hope is that every stay allows you to release the weight of the outside world, rediscover the beauty of the present moment, and leave feeling grounded and refreshed.
In the original Blackwood story, inspiration comes from travel: an outdoor shower, open-sky soaking, a waterfall, an eagle sweeping across the lake, and owls calling at dusk. Thoughtful architecture frames these moments rather than competing with them.
Our mission is to make room for stillness and connection. From honeymoons to a quiet weekend away, personal hospitality and care in the details help guests leave feeling refreshed.

Where can I find stay policies?

Is Blackwood adults-only?
Blackwood is an adults-only retreat. Guests must be at least 21 to book and stay unless management approves otherwise in writing. Contact the team about any specific event arrangements.
What are the arrival and departure arrangements?
Check-in begins at 4 pm Central time. Check the arrival instructions and checkout time in your reservation confirmation; the terms for your chosen stay apply.
Can I choose my arrival day and stay length?
Choose available arrival and departure dates on HolidayFuture. The current minimum stay and booking window are shown for your selected accommodation and dates.
What are the food options?
Blackwood does not operate an on-site restaurant. Review the kitchen facilities in your selected listing, prepare your own meals, explore nearby dining, or ask about private-chef and culinary enhancements.
Can I arrange something special?
Romance, birthday, culinary, signature, and honeymoon enhancements are available by request. After booking, contact the concierge at (903) 304-8811 at least 72 hours before arrival with your reservation number. Availability, pricing, and inclusions must be confirmed.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Wi-Fi is available in the accommodations. Connection quality can vary with location and conditions. Contact the team if your stay depends on a particular connection requirement.
